0.74u00a0oz ROBICu00ae 7Du00a0is the lightestu00a0fabric in our ROBICu00ae nylon line and one of the only 7 Denier fabrics on the market today.

In exchange for a modest weight increase compared tou00a0other ultralight fabricsu00a0(e.g. Membrane 10), ROBICu00ae 7D uses a specially formulated, microporous PU coating to achieve much higher water resistance while also maintaining good breathability (see specs below). It's also calendered and downproof.

Like the rest of our ROBICu00ae nylon line, ROBICu00ae 7D is bothu00a0stronger and more durable compared to similar weight standard nylon fabrics. See below for a typical comparison between fabrics using standard Nylon 6 yarn and ROBICu00ae yarn:

Translation?u00a0ROBICu00ae fabrics are up to 50% stronger with 2.5x the tear strength. In other words, it's hard to break and tough to rip.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Typical uses include quilt shells, jackets, tarps, blankets, rain mittens, beanies, oru00a0any application requiring an ultralight fabric with an excellent combination of water resistance and breathability.

*NOTEu00a0- Because of reduced air permeability, we do not recommend using ROBIC 7D for both the inner AND outer layers of any fully enclosed application (e.g. quilts). For best results, use together with a fully breathable layer of fabric (e.g. MEMBRANE 10). u00a0
